Never tried Reformer and wondering what it’s all about?
Here’s a quick rundown.
As we age we may start to notice that our bodies might not tolerate the types of exercise we have used to stay in shape, especially high impact ones like running. The magic of the Pilates Reformer is that it offers a combination of resistance and support for the body that can produce highly effective, targeted results while eliminating impact on the joints.
The Reformer is essentially a sliding carriage that moves by way of a pulley system using springs of varying degrees of tension and resistance to exercises which helps to strengthen and lengthen the muscles at the same time. The moving carriage offers feedback and instability challenging your center of gravity and building both balance and spatial awareness in the body.
Pilates Reformer really is for everyone, regardless of your age or condition. It is a safe, sustainable exercise system that helps you build strength without excess bulk, improves posture, flexibility and range of motion allowing you to look and feel your very best.
April is a certified Pilates Reformer instructor through Balanced Body.
Centered studio is equipped with two Balanced Body Allegro 2 Pilates Reformers to accommodate private and duet sessions.
